Jail

The Livingston County Jail currently houses around 254 inmates.  We have had many changes in our jail not only in the capacity but in our clientele that are being lodged.  Currently we are in the first phase of a Jail Renovation.  

We use a variety of  alternative sentencing methods to help keep the jail space for those most deserving.  We have been using the Community Work Program for a number of years and it has been a very successful   program.  With the building of the new jail we were also able to implement the Work Release   program.
